| Unlimited dollars in political contests have been a major force in the extreme partisanship we now experience in Washington and our state capitals. I think only individuals should be allowed to contribute to political campaigns, and the maximum amount should be considerably less than $2700 per campaign. There are other bigger problems in our election process that must also be fixed - we must end single-winner districts and implement multi-winner districts with ranked choice voting - but even in that more perfect system, unlimited campaign dollars could play too big a role. | |||

Reducing taxes on corporations does not increase investment where it is needed. Increasing taxes on both corporations and individuals behaving badly toward their employees, their communities, toward the planet, will incent them to also focus their investments where they will do the most good for civilization - not on just profits. | |||

| Nothing is more important to the continuation of America and all civilization than educating the next generations. As a resident of South Carolina, I know how badly individual states will ignore that mandate. As an American who's lived in many parts of the country, I also know how important it is for kids moving from one school to another to continue their studies with as little interruption as possible. National standards, keeping all schools teaching the same subjects at the same times, would keep the disruption to a minimum as our workforce migrates around the country to follow the jobs. | |||

| Global climate change will change all of civilization. Oceans will rise more than thirty feet in the next couple hundred years, causing the greatest human migration ever seen. We still have the opportunity to stop the sea rise before it tops 100 feet if we take action now by eliminating all use of fossil-fuels and switch to bio-fuels in the next few years. If we don't, our kids and grandkids will damn us for all eternity as they live through the collapse of civilization from starvation and war as harvest after harvest fail from erratic weather and climate change. | |||

| I fully support the right of all Americans to own "simple" guns (no advanced semi-automatics), as long as they can prove they are safe and sane, and that their guns are kept in locked gun safes to keep them off the black-market from theft. Combined with a generous national gun buy-back program, we could easily reduce the number of guns in America by half and consequently increase the price of guns on the black-market beyond the reach of most angry kids looking for revenge or power. | |||

| I'll be happy to repeal Obamacare the day Medicare for All is implemented. Until then, the ACA has done more good for more people than any other legislation in the past thirty years. Implementing Medicare for All, and improving Medicare to be the all inclusive single payer program it was intended to be, is one of my highest priorities. There are some public services that should not be profit-making ventures for the already rich. Medical care is one of them. | |||

| Illegal immigration is lower now than it has ever been. The border patrol seems to be doing a fine job in bringing the numbers down. People who arrived here illegally some years ago, should have a clear path to citizenship. People who make a super-human effort to get here illegally now, should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, as they are now, and sent back or allowed to stay depending on their individual situations. | |||

| It's well beyond time that all cannabis products were legalized and regulated like cigarettes and alcohol, and all cannabis-related prisoners were released, re-trained, and given first dibs on cannabis-based businesses. As a sovereign nation with our own sovereign currency, the federal government can pay people and buy things at any amount it wants. We are not limited by taxes or bond sales and in fact, neither of those operations give the federal government more dollars for funding. New US dollars are created by keystrokes on a keyboard which credit bank accounts. The question is, where should new dollars go to make the most positive difference for we-the-people and our future. |
